Second Annual BLACKLIGHT Dance!

Yup, you read it right. After the success of the first ever WSRU sponsored dance last year, we couldn’t resist bring you BLACKLIGHT 2! The event will take place on Friday, January 27th from 9pm-1am in Ochre’s Grand Hall. Tickets will be available for sale Tuesday, January 17 at 8am in the Office of Student Activities located in the basement of Wakehurst. They are $5 for students and guests (one guest per student). Trust me when I say, this event WILL sell out. Get your tickets ASAP! (If you are interested  in getting a free ticket, please email Frank at ferenc.gaspar@salve.edu). Club T Productions will be providing the unbelievable nightclub lighting, and WSRU DJ’s will be spinning the best club, hiphop, mashups, and EDM music ALL night. Believe me when I say, you are NOT going to want to miss this one

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! We have been very busy organizing and scheduling all WSRU can offer for the spring semester. We will be posting a HUGE event announcement January 10th at 5PM – you’re not going to want to miss this one.

Annual Halloween Dance! [SOLD OUT]

It’s that time of the year again! CAB’s Halloween Dance is officially HERE! This Friday, October 28, from 9pm-1am in Ochre Court, WSRU will bring you the music as you dance the night away in your costumes! The event is completely SOLD OUT so for those lucky individuals that were able to get tickets in time, please remember: no ticket, no entry. See you all on Friday!

Let the Shows Begin!

Hello everyone! Hope everyone enjoyed our White Out Dance! It was a lot of work behind the scenes but it made it all well worth it to see everyone enjoying themselves that night. Now that we had a chance to meet some of our reps at Club Rush and pick up our free tank tops, it’s time to start our first week of shows! Keep checking back on the WSRU Radio Facebook page to get updates on the latest shows and event pages for shows. Once all the shows are finalized and slots fill up we will post up a schedule. So until that point, keep checking in on the WSRU Facebook page and tune in for shows all week long!

WHITE OUT DANCE

Welcome back to all students! On behalf of the entire WSRU staff, we wish everyone had a great summer. As we have been promising all summer long on our Facebook page, we have finally announced our first semester event! After following the success of last year’s BLACKLIGHT dance, the entire staff thought it would be appropriate to push the limits even further. Therefore, we have created the WHITE OUT dance. This event will transform Ochre Court into a night club, guarenteed. WHITE OUT will feature some WSRU DJ’s, but for the first time ever, we are having DJ DOUBLETAKE headline the event. DOUBLETAKE has DJed across America from Vegas to Miami for some guests by the names of P.Diddy, Lil Wayne, Drake, and MANY more. Ticket information will be released via our official WSRU Facebook page, but there is very limited supply for the student body, so make sure to check back often so you can purchase your tickets asap! This event is something you do not want to miss!

Welcome Class of 2015!

Hello all! Hope everyone has had an amazing summer. As we all know the school year is right around the corner! WSRU has plenty of involvement during the Fall Semester so we plan to see everyone. WSRU will be DJing the Class of 2015 Social on Monday and the GO BLUE BBQ on Tuesday! In addition, we will be releasing a huge event annoucement the first week of classes, so keep posted on our Facebook page! See everyone soon!

FINAL LIVE MIX OF THE YEAR!

Hello everyone! Our final live mix of the year will be taking place WEDNESDAY night from 8pm to Midnight live on www.WSRUradio.net or the direct video player HERE. Also important to note, we will be giving away our custom neon green WSRU sunglasses for FREEEE to ANYONE who makes a special visit into the studio during this event (while supplies last). So turn us on while your studying for your last finals and stop by to get an awesome free giveaway!

ALSO, we will be using this event to allow WSRU members to vote for the treasurer for the 2011-2012 school year. So if you are part of WSRU, please call in at 401-341-2450, or visit the studio to cast your ballot! PLEASE VOTE!

WSRU @ Go Green Dance!

The Go Green Dance has come back around! Like always, we will be responsible for playing some awesome tunes for the entire night! The dance will be held Friday, April 15 9pm-1am in Ochre’s Grand Hall. Tickets are on sale for $2 available in the Office of Student Activities or $3 at the door. The proceeds from the ticket sales will go to The Chernobyl Children’s Fund (international) and The Norman Bird Sanctuary (local). We look forward to seeing all the Salve students there! Remember WEAR BLUE!

WSRU Meeting & Live Mix

We’re backkkkkk!

First and foremost, we will be holding a meeting on Thursday, April 7 at 7pm in Wakehurst 206. We will be discussing our new LIVE series, promotional giveaways for the end of the year, and promos for the Fall. This meeting is MANDATORY if you plan on using the DJ gear live on air (we will discuss rules and procedures). So please try and make it out!

NEXT! We have another night of amazing mixes for you to tune into! Three respectable DJ’s (Mike Samek, Mike Gangitano, and Frank Gaspar) will be spinning an hour each LIVE on the air, bringing you the newest tracks to date in their respected genres! So tune in Thursday, April 7, from 9pm-12am.

First LIVE DJ Mix From WSRU Studio

Hi again everyone! We’re pleased to announce some awesome news: we are now able to stream our live DJ mixes directly from the studio. You will be able to listen and watch the DJ at work! Tonight at 9pm we will be bringing you the first live mix, mixed by the Station Manager, Frank Gaspar. He will focus on playing a strictly Dubstep set and encourages people who love this genre to tune in or come by the studio to hang out!

So tune in tonight at 9pm to experience the new chapter for WSRU!
